Gorilla Glue #4 was accidentally created by Joesy Whales and Lone Watty of GG Strains when Chem's Sister hermaphrodited and pollinated Sour Dubb, which was then crossed with Chocolate Diesel. The resulting strain was so potent and resinous it immediately turned heads. It won multiple Cannabis Cups in 2014, shooting from unknown to legendary in a single year. The strain is named for the extreme stickiness of its resin — trimming GG#4 literally glues scissors shut. It briefly faced a trademark dispute with the adhesive company Gorilla Glue and was rebranded as 'GG#4' or 'Original Glue' in some markets.

💡 Fun Facts
  • GG#4 famously won both the Michigan and Los Angeles Cannabis Cups in 2014 — the same year it was introduced to the public.
  • It was created by accident: an unexpected hermaphrodite plant pollinated the wrong female, and the result was GG#4.
  • The actual Gorilla Glue adhesive company sent a cease and desist to the breeders, forcing a rebrand to 'GG#4' or 'Original Glue.'
  • Some phenotypes of GG#4 have tested above 32% THC — among the highest naturally occurring THC percentages recorded.
  • Trimming GG#4 is notoriously difficult — experienced trimmers report going through gloves and scissors quickly due to the extreme resin.
