History

Barney's Farm was born from founder Derry's passion for exotic genetics collected during extensive travels through Tibet, Nepal, Afghanistan, and the Himalayas in the 1980s. He brought back rare landrace genetics and, in 1992, opened both Barney's Coffeeshop in Amsterdam and the associated seed company. The coffeeshop became one of Amsterdam's most famous, repeatedly winning the best coffeeshop award from High Times. The seed bank grew alongside it, consistently producing award-winning genetics through careful breeding programs. Today Barney's Farm is considered one of the premier seed banks in the world with a reputation for producing visually striking, aromatic, and potent varieties.
